Hygienalia is showcasing in Madrid these days the latest advances in the sector, with a notable presence of innovations such as next-generation cleaning products, robots connected to satellites, and the most efficient proposals in industrial laundry.
The biennial event organized by Feria Valencia faces its final day tomorrow amid optimism from exhibitors and a large influx of buyers filling the aisles of Pavilion 3 at Ifema.
Madrid, November 5, 2025.—Hygienalia is experiencing its second day today, confirming the excellent prospects left by the opening day: strong business activity, numerous buyers, and full aisles in an edition that is on track to set new records in the history of this professional cleaning, hygiene, and industrial laundry trade show. In this regard, visitors praise the diversification of the offer at the fair, not only around products related to professional hygiene but also in areas such as machinery and technology—with a clear commitment to robotics—as well as in the industrial laundry sector, which has increased its presence at the event.
Indeed, Hygienalia is showcasing the modernization process driven by automation, digitalization, and sustainability. Robots and artificial intelligence are taking on repetitive tasks such as folding or stain detection, improving quality and reducing costs. Connected systems allow real-time monitoring of water, energy, and detergent consumption, optimizing management and maintenance. At the same time, new technologies in water recycling, heat recovery, and efficient drying reduce environmental impact. With the addition of RFID traceability and more flexible modular designs, the sector is moving toward a smarter, more sustainable, and more profitable model, according to exhibitors.
Technological advancement is one of the main focuses of the event. Hygienalia 2025 has taken another step in integrating robotics and artificial intelligence, featuring autonomous cleaning robots and digital control systems. For example, some robots are connected to satellites and can choose the optimal time of day for cleaning tasks based on weather conditions.
Alongside technology, efficiency and eco-design also dominate the presentation of new products. Tools, mops, sponges, and accessories made from recycled or natural materials are on display, as well as drying and disinfection equipment that combine performance with energy savings. The overall trend points to a sector striving to maintain service quality while reducing operational costs and emissions, without sacrificing aesthetic and functional innovation.
The commitment to recycled materials, reusable packaging, and formulations free of traditional chemicals is at the forefront of many new developments, with a clear trend toward cleaning systems that minimize waste and resource consumption.
Professionalism, productivity, and digitalization in the conference program
All of this is also reflected in Hygienalia’s conference program. The conference day held today, November 5, at Hygienalia was marked by a clear focus on the professionalization, productivity, and digitalization of the cleaning sector. From early in the morning, the Josep Pinent Room hosted a full agenda of presentations organized by business associations such as AFELIN and AELMA, in collaboration with companies and experts in legal, labor, and technological fields.
The first session of the day, led by representatives from AELMA and renowned jurists, focused on public procurement and the role of SMEs in this area. Prominent speakers such as Federico López de la Riva Carrasco, Secretary of the Madrid City Council and Administrative Court Magistrate, analyzed regulatory barriers and the opportunities that public administration offers to medium and small companies in the sector, emphasizing the need for greater professionalization and technical knowledge to compete on equal terms.
Subsequently, topics related to personnel management were discussed, highlighting concern about high absenteeism rates, which reach 11%, and proposing measures such as flexible compensation and wellness programs to improve employee motivation. In the same vein, a study by Umivale Activa and IVIE analyzed accidents and sick leave in the sector, especially in the Community of Madrid, providing data to better understand the causes of the problem.
Digitalization was the focus of the final part of the day, with the presentation of a report on the use of artificial intelligence in professional cleaning. Although its implementation is still limited, companies are showing growing interest in its potential. The session concluded with practical examples of AI applications in service optimization, quality control, and operational efficiency, confirming that technological innovation is beginning to tangibly transform the management of the sector.
Tomorrow, final day
Hygienalia will hold its closing day tomorrow, aiming to consolidate the success in attendance and business achieved over the past two days. The fair will open its doors in Pavilion 3 at Ifema at 10:00 a.m. and close at 4:00 p.m.
